TEXTILE KÖRPER - IM WERDEN

I´ve been shooting close-up photos of textiles on 35mm film. All of these textiles were in contact with a body - my body, or other people´s bodies. 

The textiles in my photographs show traces of this physical touch and they themselves show resemblance to human bodies. They are reminiscent of the palms of the hands, body folds, and skin.

I explore the presence of the bodies of the people who were in contact with the material through the stitching process. The process of embroidery creates a `textile body´ on top of the `textile body´ that can be seen in the photographs.

This work deals with transience in a bigger sense of the word, exploring the state of things that once have been.
